Uncle John was such an amazing Uncle and Great Uncle. I have so many fond memories of him, especially of the times I visited him in Taiwan. My most cherished memory is when I stayed a month with him and Aunt Mary in the summer of 2002.
During this time, he kept me under his wings to make sure I was doing well. He was such a thoughtful, kind, and considerate man. I’ll always treasure the time we spent
together at his office, visiting his favorite spots in Taipei, and going to Lawry’s to have a steak.
In 2010, Jason and I were privileged to visit him and Aunt Mary at their new home. On this day we visited, we had the best time with him and Aunt Mary walking through a nature reserve to see the Mangrove trees. To top it off, he treated us to afternoon tea at a tea house where we were able to overlook the ocean and see the sunset together. We’ll never forget all the love and warmth he showed us on that trip.
Uncle John was also a caring and loving Great Uncle to my young daughters, Olivia and Annabelle. I could see it when he visited California last year. His gentle nature, laughter, and smile brought joy into their lives.
We love and miss you Uncle John. You will live in our hearts forever.
Michele, Jason, Olivia, and Annabelle
